We're ready to begin

To complete your preliminary assessment we need some details and documents from you. This page walks through all four steps in order.

Set aside about 30 minutes. You don't have to do it all at once — each step saves as you go, and you can stop and come back.

Heads up: you'll receive four separate emails

This catches almost everyone out, so it's worth saying plainly. The steps below arrive as separate emails, not one. If you're applying with someone else, you'll each receive your own set — they can't be completed on one person's behalf.

Here's what to look for:

• Step 1 — "Your signature is required: Credit Guide and Privacy Statement"

• Step 2 — "Client Portal shared", plus an SMS with your login code

• Step 3 — "Invitation to use Frollo for financial information collection"

• Step 4 — no email; upload through your Client Portal

If any of them haven't arrived within an hour, check your junk folder first, then call us on 02 6885 0588.

Step 1 — Sign your privacy document

Look for "Your signature is required: Credit Guide and Privacy Statement".

This is the legal permission that lets us act for you and approach lenders on your behalf. We can't start anything until it's signed — so if you only do one thing today, do this one.

It takes about two minutes and can be signed on your phone. Each applicant signs their own.

Step 2 — Complete your Client Portal

Look for "Client Portal shared" in your inbox, and an SMS with a unique login code. You'll need both to log in securely.

In the portal you'll enter your employment details, assets and liabilities. Under liabilities, please include everything:

• Home loans, personal loans and car loans

• Credit cards — including any you never use. Lenders assess these on the limit, not the balance.

• Buy Now Pay Later — Afterpay, Zip, Klarna and similar

• HECS-HELP debt

• Any loan you've guaranteed for someone else

Please don't leave anything off. Lenders verify all of it through your credit file and bank statements, so anything missed will surface later — and a surprise at that stage looks worse than the debt itself ever would. There's no debt that's embarrassing to us. We've seen it all, and most of it doesn't change the outcome.

Step 3 — Connect your bank statements through Frollo

Look for "Invitation to use Frollo for financial information collection". Each applicant receives their own.

This is how we collect your bank statements securely, and it's far quicker than downloading and emailing PDFs. It covers your transaction accounts, loans, credit cards and BNPL accounts in one go.

Can't find your bank in Frollo? Some smaller lenders and providers aren't listed yet. Call us and we'll sort out an alternative — it's not a problem.

Step 4 — Upload your payslips and ID

Upload these through your Client Portal:

• Your three most recent payslips, in PDF format — screenshots and photos of a screen usually can't be read

• A photo of your driver's licence

• A photo of your Medicare card

Each applicant provides their own. If you're self-employed, we'll ask for tax returns and BAS instead — we'll let you know exactly what's needed.

Is my information safe?

A fair question, and worth answering properly rather than just saying "bank-grade security".

Frollo is accredited under the Australian Government's Consumer Data Right. That's the same framework that governs open banking across Australia, and accreditation is granted by the ACCC.

You never share your banking password with us or with Frollo. You log in through your own bank's secure page and give a one-time consent. We receive read-only data. Nobody can move money, and nothing can be changed.

You control it. You can withdraw consent at any time, and the access is time-limited by design. Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest, and only your broker and support team can see your file.

What happens next

Once everything's in, we complete your borrowing capacity assessment — usually within two business days. Then we'll call you to talk through what you can borrow, what it means in practice, and the options worth considering. Nothing goes to any lender without your approval.

While we're assessing — a few things to avoid

• Don't apply for new credit — cards, car finance, BNPL or personal loans

• Don't change jobs if you can help it, or let us know first if it's unavoidable

• Don't make large unexplained transfers or cash withdrawals

• Do keep your accounts in order — overdrawn accounts and dishonoured payments show up on statements

None of these are dealbreakers on their own. They're just easier to avoid than to explain.
